Brief Background

Caste certificate certifies that the applicant belongs to a particular caste. Caste certificates are issued under two categories namely Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe certificate (ST). Caste Certificates are generally required for getting the benefits of various Government Schemes and for reservation in Government Services/Institutes, etc.

Objective

The main objective of a caste certificate in India is to help people from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) access benefits and opportunities that are reserved for them

Benefits

It serves as proof of their eligibility as and when required, particularly when it comes to the paybacks and initiatives provided by the Indian government. With a caste certification, you can get advantages in education enrolment, entrance examinations, jobs, state subsidies, and grants etc.

Implementation Methodology

Himachal Online Seva portal can be broken down into five stages:

a. Prepare

b. Plan

c. Design

d. Validate

e. Deploy

Each stage has a series of segments that include inputs, tools and techniques that build on each other to move to the next stage 
The orthodox manual mechanism was studied and an online solution was  carved mantaining the old flow of the service. 
Although there were furthermore benefits of this online solution. The citizen can fetch its details wrt the Khasra/Khautani number or even search land records wrt its name. In addition to this service, this online solution is also integrated with parivar register ( Parivar Register is the single identifier of bonafide resident families and its members in Himachal Pradesh.  It also serves as a centralized repository of resident attributes that are required by departments to determine the families and its strength wrt name, gender and age
